About Us

Glentaffe is a tea estate in the hills of central Sri Lanka. Plantation Managers such as Andrew’s grandfather – Evelyn Frederick Smith, started this journey of Glentaffe in the 1920s, and boosted its reputation and that of Ceylon Tea, and growth of the current day Sri Lankan tea industry. Today this legacy is revived under Glentaffe Capital. 

Andrew was a senior finance executive in the wine spirits business. He evaluated and integrated acquisitions then subsequently went to on privatise energy companies around the world, latterly leading acquisition work in electricity supply, integration in manufacturing, and due diligence in the document management and market research industries. 

Andrew was determined to initiate a new style of corporate finance advisory work. He called on Stephen Cahill to join him, and bring his skills in marketing and strategy, and Stuart Duncan with his substantial international banking experience. 

We now bring together a team of marketeers, accountants, and international bankers with global reach. We will go there, even if a polo stick and a pony is needed!  There are unlikely to be any business challenges or opportunities we cannot either address ourselves or find a man or woman who can work with us to achieve whatever is needed.  

Our client work is already proving successful with paid solutions having been provided for a new drug rehabilitation centre, supporting investor relations for a Championship Rugby Club, advisory fees being earned in the launch of several agave and whisky products, capital raising for digital technology in hotels, and marketing campaigns to SMEs in the planning.
