Stuart Duncan

Stuart is an international banker with over 25 years’ experience in Latin America, with a proven track record in the development and implementation of effective business strategies, achieving strong business results across a number of key banking businesses. 

He fully understands the attributes of successful businesses and how bank financing and the provision of business advice that goes with it can be a key ingredient to that success. Stuart graduated from St Andrew’s University with an MA (Hons) in Economics and completed the Senior Executive Programme at Manchester University Business School. 

In Latin America his roles have included being CEO of LloydsTSB  in Paraguay, Country Manager – Brazil (Legacy), Assistant Manager LloydsTSB – Uruguay. From 2009-2011 was responsible for the Global High Net Worth business of the Lloyds Banking Group across Latin America. Despite the acute financial crisis he was successful in retaining AUM levels and promoting new business. Since 2011 he has successfully managed the liquidation and closure of Lloyds Bank’s businesses in Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay. He remains the Legal Representative of the legacy business of Lloyds Bank in Brazil. He is an inspirational and charismatic leader, with a passion for people and their development and with the ability to “get the best out of people” through maximising their talent and potential. He adapts easily to different cultures and consistently performs at high level in the most challenging economic and social environments. He is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese as well as native English language. He is a low handicap golfer and an owner of a vineyard in Argentina and is a consummate networker and interacts well with senior business and government leaders. 

Stuart as Latin American Partner represents in Latin America and will source investors from that region, help facilitate incoming investment and be a conduit for services provided to Latin America. He will as and when required provide his deep banking expertise to clients more generally.
