Guizhou (China) International Beverage Conference

It is said there is more alcoholic spirits drunk in China than the rest of the world together. For over 4000 years that spirit has been baiju. It is not just one mark but multi dimensional.
The challenge is attracting an international audience to the spirit, the most well known and expensive of which is Moutai from Guizhou. It has a place in the bars of the world. GTC has worked in China and has a small team of Chinese associates.
We attended this important promotional event in London, a few months ahead of the main conference in Guizhou in October 2023. Glentaffe made a video for the event and hosted a stand. We promulgated our links to whisky distilleries in Scotland, England and Ireland. We are in discussion with a number of potential investors in UK and Irish whiskey and are also now linked to a number of large baiju producers and distributors interested in not only expanding the reach of baiju in international markets, but also helping international spirit brands distribute in China.
